When the 2015 inductees in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced, an idiot morning show DJ on the local alternative rock station declared that Ringo Starr didn’t really deserve to be honored by himself. He scoffed that Starr was only awarded this honor now because the other three Beatles were already in, and The Foundation didn’t want him to die the only Beatle not in the Hall of Fame.
This guy didn’t understand Starr’s contribution to Rock and Roll.
I’m not a music expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ve heard interviews with Ringo, and I’ve heard him talk about his approach to the drums and how he manipulates their sound in different songs. I’m impressed, but like I said, I’m not a music expert, so I don’t think my opinion would count for much in this argument.
But, I think these guys have plenty to say on the matter, and I think they have enough credibility to get people to listen.
